We are currently recruiting participants for a study on <br /> <br /> facilitating learning using various search and annotation tools (including two <br /> <br /> conditions involving a novel software prototype). The focus is on free-style <br /> <br /> learning about a specific new area of technology. Participants will <br /> <br /> spend most of their time learning about this area on their own and making <br /> <br /> annotations as they choose, using either familiar tools (e.g., Google, Word) or<br /> <br /> something new. There'll also be some testing to assess learning strategies <br /> <br /> and probe how effective the tools they used were in facilitating learning. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Completing the study requires participation in two sessions. The <br /> <br /> first session lasts about 4 hours (including breaks). The second session lasts <br /> <br /> only 1 hour but must be done one week after the first. Study sessions will <br /> <br /> be held in the ISL lab at PARC, which is very close to the Stanford Campus<br /> <br /> (3333 Coyote Hill Road, Palo Alto; see www.parc.com).<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Payment is $120.00 on the completion of the study.
