The house is located a short 10-15 min drive from Stanford, Downtown Mountain View, and Downtown Palo Alto, and just 5 min away from Downtown Los Altos including shops, restaurants, and grocery stores. I-280 is just across the neighborhood for convenient access to San Jose and San Francisco. The bedroom is located on the first floor near the end of a hall, with an in-built closet, and shared bathroom with one other person. The bathroom is updated and spacious. There is no bathtub. The bedroom has a private exterior entrance. The room is unfurnished and does not receive excessive natural sunlight and has wall to wall tan carpeting. We are a group of eight housemates! But do not be alarmed! We all have our own schedules and it is unusual for most of us to be home at the same time, but we like to do occasional planned group get-togethers like house dinners, board game nights, bike rides, hikes, movie nights, wine tasting, and going out to dinner. The housemates are social and welcoming, and everyone is accommodating and respectful to one another's boundaries. There is plenty of common space for everyone to spread out and enjoy the house apart from just their room. We are mostly millennials and two gen-z, but we do not discriminate against age, gender, etc., fam! Currently residing in our home are: one Standard Poodle dog, one affectionate indoor senior cat, several house plants, and various wildlife inhabiting our secluded yet not fenced backyard. We are a diverse group of former academics, scientists, graduate students, engineers, assistants, retail personnel, nurse, and more. The house has several amenities. The finished basement includes room for a home gym area, features a pool table, as well as a TV/gaming area. There is a huge backyard with a garden, patio, fire-pit, and several yard games like badminton, volley ball, ladder ball, spike ball, to name a few. The large kitchen is equipped with modern appliances including dual full-size ovens, a 6-burner ceramic stovetop, a Bosch dishwasher, a kitchen island with butcher block and a filtered drinking water tap. There is a dining room and two large living rooms on the ground level with views to the backyard through panoramic windows. The laundry room was recently updated with a Frigidaire front-loading washing machine and a GE commercial grade dryer. The house uses a WiFi 6 mesh system so that there is strong signal in all parts of the house. The rent for the room is $1580/month, utilities are typically around $100-150/month depending on usage and include internet, gas, electric, trash, water, heating, and a monthly house cleaner . Gardeners care for the landscaping weekly, which is included in the rent. The refundable security deposit is 1 month of rent.
