Independent house with tons of sunlight in the kitchen and dining room, a two car garage, a (real) fireplace and a bookcase in the living room, large balcony (which was a great work-from-home spot during the lockdown), and full and private backyard. There is plenty of storage space, and the room has a walk-in closet. You'll be sharing a bathroom with me. The house has its own washer and dryer in the garage. Rent is $1600 per month with a six month lease. I'm a recent graduate of the Ph.D. program at Stanford and am now a research scientist at Swift Solar, a startup making efficient and lightweight solar panels. I work most days at my lab in San Carlos. Outside of work, I love reading fiction and nonfiction (my recent favorites are Elena Ferrante and Brit Bennett, and my perpetual old favorite is George Eliot). I like to hike and climb, at times do a bunch of cooking and baking, and I love having friends over for dinner or to hang out (and occasionally to dance - the house is very nicely soundproof), and making the house as warm and welcoming as possible.
