I am a postdoc at Stanford, moving out of this apartment, and hoping to find a cool roommate for my current roommate :) I think this place is a great value for the area and I have really enjoyed living here.
The place is available December 1-ish (the move-in date can be flexible +/- 2 weeks). The current lease runs until June 27, 2022, after which you can renew or go month-to-month.
Location: Birch Creek complex in Mountain View, neighboring to Los Altos/ Palo Alto. It is 1-2 block away from the San Antonio Rd shopping center (Trader Joes, Safeway, Whole Foods, Target, Walmart are all here). Also close to Rengstorff Park, which is quite lovely. And 1 mile from Castro St (downtown Mountain View).
Drive to Stanford is about 15 minutes, also bikeable in about 30 minutes (6 miles).
Bedroom: 11x13, feels both cozy and spacious, lots of natural light, wall to wall closet.
Private Bathroom: you will have the hallway bathroom to yourself (it is the more spacious one of the two), it has a bathtub and windows.
Common spaces: spacious, hardwood floors, very good layout.
The kitchen is fully equipped, with a good amount of cabinet+counter space, a decent-sized fridge, and a double sink.
The kitchen opens into a dining space that overlooks the living room and balcony,
Living room - so spacious (seriously, 22x12!). We kept it minimally furnished, but it can easily accommodate more couches, desks for WFH, or entertaining.
Balcony - large and bright enough for a balcony garden.
Pets - can accommodate large pets and has NO breed restrictions. I have a dog who's coming with me, so the apartment will be pet-free when you move.
The complex: pretty hands off, unless there is a problem. There is a pool with hot-tub, a clubhouse, a gym, a koi pond. The complex is quite safe and we haven't had any neighbor problems.
Furniture: most of the furniture in the common places will stay. I can leave the bedroom furnished or empty is out.
The Roommate: 28yo male, vaccinated, works for non-profit in the area. Friendly, respectful, and mostly quiet. Likes to socialize occasionally, but also play video-games in his room.
Utilities run $100-200/ month each depending on season.
