We are seeking a Research Assistant to support study to develop a screen to for risk of mental health problems following emergency hospital admission for severe illness or injury. The study aims to make a screen that works well for ethnic/racial minority patients. The Research Assistant will work 10 hours per week explaining the study to Stanford Hospital patients, enrolling them in the study, and collecting answers to study questions. The research assistant will also call patients for follow-up questions two months after they were admitted to the hospital. Work hours must include 2 to 3 hours on either Saturday or Sunday and 2-3 hours on two week days between 4 PM and 8 PM. Qualifications include: • Fluency in Espanol Mexicano and English • Excellent interpersonal skills • Ability to communicate well in English with hospital and research staff • Ability to read, understand and follow the study protocol • Interest in and aptitude for subject recruitment in a hospital environment • Comfortable with using tablet computers and email • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Ability to complete tasks independently To apply or ask questions send a letter of interest and resume to Rose Barlow at rbarlow@pavir.org and Rose Trinidad at rmtrinidad@stanford.edu
