Small furnished studio cottage in lovely residential campus neighborhood minutes from campus center, available Sept. 1 in exchange for help with various household tasks. Suitable for 1 person only: one 10'x11' room, plus closet and bathroom. Studio is separate from main house, pleasant, quiet and private, with own entrance, back yard, picnic table, fire-pit, and vegetable gardens. No kitchen but has refrigerator, toaster oven, hot plate and microwave, and tenant can use our kitchen, washer/dryer, swimming pool, hot tub, large yard, gardens, and bike shed. Photos available. We are a retired faculty couple. Instead of paying full rent, tenant helps us with computer issues, home maintenance, mechanical problem-solving (whatever breaks!), gardening, etc. Work time vs. rent is negotiable, but will average 6 hrs./week plus $500/mo. rent. Work times can be 2 or 3 days/wk. but must include 4 hrs. daytime availability (9am-6pm) on weekdays or weekends. One-year lease minimum, longer term strongly preferred. Must be nonsmoker, have driver's license, no cat allergies, excellent English, computer skills, flexible schedule and references.
