You’ll establish a large, helpful social network of other excellent students and departments by assisting all requests for meeting space within Tresidder Memorial Union, Old Union, Nitery, and Clubhouse Ballroom. These are skills that can be used throughout your professional career. Tresidder Memorial Union is a large campus center that provides meeting and conference services, food services, retail services, and other amenities that support faculty, staff and students in their campus lives. It houses rooms of various sizes that can be rented by both internal and external client groups. The new “Old Union” is a renovated facility that functions as a student union; it is adjacent to TMU. The Old Union includes rooms that can be booked by campus departments during summer quarter only. Job Responsibilities: •Assist with scheduling of all meeting room requests in Tresidder and as needed in Old Union using Resource 25 scheduling software. •Will be first point of contact for both on-campus and off-campus clients, must maintain an engaging, professional, and customer-focused orientation both on the phone and in person. •Provides basic advice to clients regarding meeting spaces. •Reviews all printed materials and advertising for scheduled events and programs. •Assists with major event planning (i.e.: room set-up). •Responsible for updating the Meeting Services website, as needed. •Special projects and/or other tasks as assigned. •Able to lift up to 20 lbs. •Other special office projects as assigned. Education and Experience: •Experience with event planning preferred, not required. •Dependable and flexible. •Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills and have the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. •Must be detailed oriented. •Must possess good customer service and communication skills (both verbal and written). •Ability to interact with a broad spectrum of customers with ease and efficiency, and to work effectively in a highly visible role with frequent interruptions. •Solid computer skills including Word and Excel.
